Marck Chikanza National Director

Marck Chikanza is the National Director of the National Age Network of Zimbabwe (NANZ) and is the current Chairperson of the Older Persons Board. He has over 25 years of experience in business management, organizational development, project management, across the non-profit and private sectors. At NANZ, Marck provides strategic leadership and drives initiatives that promote the rights and wellbeing of vulnerable persons, including older persons, in Zimbabwe. He has led humanitarian responses to regional disasters such as the 2000 Mozambique floods, Cyclone Idai and Covid-19, and has contributed to the development of Zimbabwe’s Care Home Standards and the National Healthy Ageing Strategy.

Marck’s professional background includes senior roles with Anglo-American Corporation, Practical Action, DAI Europe, and Sachi Chemicals SA. As a researcher, he has researched and published on economic empowerment, project management, ageing, migration, Covid-19 response, displacement, and urban vulnerability, bringing evidence-based insights into policy and practice. He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management from Chinhoyi University of Technology and degrees in Sociology, Economic History, and English from the University of Zimbabwe.
